By: John Carlaw on 15 July 2026Arrived in a week by AusPost after weekend order. No rush mail selected. Packaged cleanly in plastic sleeve with bubble wrap. Even come with a dollop of grease inside the sockets. They come with the socket clips. Hyundai accent 2016 model. Very hard to compress. I thought they were wonky at first but fitted one and that is what it needs to open the weight of the tailgate. Fitted both, opening is slow by hand pressure at first then after a foot/300mm they raise the tailgate to fully open by themselves. All good. Tailgate is quite heavy without them. Prop it up with something before removing the old one and replace one side then the other. Pop the socket clips up with a narrow screwdriver, they should remain attached. The old ones were pretty stiff. Then just take the old strut out and put the new one in. Make sure the clips are back in place. Easy job.
